Home to Heaven
Lee,
my sweet, precious husband,
went home to the Lord on
Saturday, March 22,2008.
His funeral will be Thursday, March 27.
He was a man of God,
a loving husband,
a fantastic father,
and a proud grandfather (Poppy).
He was also a brilliant editor, and video producer
who worked tirelessly for the Lord's Kingdom.
He was an example to many
of how to live a grace-filled
and gracious life.
He was loved by many.
We are heart-broken and miss him terribly.
We rejoice that he is with the Lord hed had loved for many years.
We are grateful that he is now healed!
John 14:1-3
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
2In my Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back
and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
4You know the way to the place where I am going."

Precious Husband
I have written several posts in the last few days. They have been full of random thoughts and things like basketball--March Madness is here, you know. I have chosen not to actually post them because my heart is just not in it at this time. anyway, I decided to come by and let you know what's going on in our lives right now.
Some of you are aware that my husband, Lee, has been in very poor health for almost three years. He is not doing well at this time. The last few days have been very difficult. We are thankful for the miracle that Lee has been with us for the last few years. The doctors did not think we would have him anywhere near this long. Our family has treasured what Lee has called his "bonus time."
Lee is a remarkable godly man. Someday I may share parts of his life story with you. It is quite a story--full of faith, hope, and working for the Lord. We do not understand the journey he has traveled the last three years. However, we know that God is in control and He has a plan for Lee and for all of us who have traveled along with him. This is a very painful time; but, in the midst of it we know we will find peace.
I will not be posting a lot in the near future. I may be visiting you --reading and commenting a little now and then. I will also pop in to leave an up-date on Lee's condition as I have time and energy.
I have just finished the Bible study, Stepping Up, by Beth Moore. It was a rich, interesting, and rewarding study. Because of the current uncertain times in my own journey, I found great comfort from studying the the Psalms of Ascent (120-134)--which were sung by the Israelites on their pilgrimages to Jerusalem. What a blessing I received--just when I really needed some blessings!
Psalm 121, a long-time favorite, has come to mean so much more to me in the past few weeks. In it the Psalmist reminds us that God protects us at all times. What a comforting thought as we move through very uncertain "comings and goings." He is with us.

Psalm 121 (HCSB)
A Song of Ascent
1I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
Where does my help come from?
2My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber.
4Indeed the Protector of Israel
does not slumber nor sleep.
5The LORD protects you;
the LORD is a shelter right by your side,
6The sun will not strike you by day;
or the moon by night.
7The LORD will protect you from all harm,
He will protect your life.
8The LORD will protect your coming and going
both now and forever .
Psalm 139:5
You have encircled me;
You have placed Your hand on me.
A Song of Ascent
1I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
Where does my help come from?
2My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

7The LORD will protect you from all harm,
He will protect your life.
8The LORD will protect your coming and going
both now and forever .
Another verse I am claiming during this time is Psalm 139:5. Just imagine--God has us surrounded and His hand is on us. He certainly has us covered! Just the assurance I need right now.
Psalm 139:5
You have encircled me;
You have placed Your hand on me.

I Have Some 'Splainin' To Do!
On Saturday I tried to celebrate my son's birthday with some Beatle music! I tried, and tried, and tried, and--you get the picture--to download a YouTube of the Beatles singing Happy Birthday! Blogger wouldn't let it happen. Or, maybe, it was Y Tube's fault! Whatever--I couldn't get it to work. I was sure the tune would show up in multitudes at some point. Then I tried to post a praise music video for Sunday. Same thing happened. Except, this time, I only tried once!
I was sure all those videos would show up at some point. Sure enough! Today--Wednesday-- all the videos came out of hiding at the same time! You can see below this post that Blogger (or YouTube) finally let ALL of the videos come to my place! :-)
Anyway, enjoy my mistake.!You can sing Happy Birthday with the Beatles a bunch of times. I'll be back on Thursday to clean up the mess. I want my son to have a chance to see that I really did try for the Beatles instead of a fake beetle!! I think he tries to avoid my blog, but maybe he'll drop by. Happy Birthday, again, Greg!

Here's a little known fact about my "neck of the woods"--
THE LARGEST SNOWFALL
ON RECORD IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD...
OCCURRED ON MARCH 17TH 1892...
WHEN 17.0 INCHES FELL.
That's a Snowfall!
That's a snowstorm!
So, you would have thought yesterday that we were going to get a snowfall second only to the one in 1892. The forecast for last night was for at least 3-6 inches, with more to follow today. I'm sure that somewhere in Tennessee someone probably got a good snow. Here? Not so much. Whatever we got has almost melted. The SUN tends to do that to snow! I think our yard may have had an inch or maybe a little more. It did not quite cover all the grass. It was certainly anything but the wild and woolly storm that we heard about ALL DAY YESTERDAY!
Spring!
Please. . .
Soon!
Please. . .
Soon!
We have another family birthday to be celebrated!
Greg, our older son is thirty-something today.
He is married to Audre'. Luke and Ella are their children.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GREG!!
Here's a little tune just for you!
Well, there is supposed to be a You*Tube* of the Beatles (as in singing group from the 60s) singing Happy Birthday to You! Either YTube or Blogger cxnnot seem to make it work today. Of course, I could end up with ten copies of the video on Cherish... at any minute--if Blogger suddenly decides to let them post! Yes, I tried several times to upload the tune video! :-)
Well, anyway, I couldn't get the Beatles; but, here's a bug. Let's pretend she's a beatle and sing along with her, now!

Show and Tell--Maine Blueberry Dishes
Surprise! I am actually going to do a post without a birthday greeting! The birthday break won't last long. There will be another B-day celebration coming up SOON! :-) Today we have other things to do!
Friday is Show and Tell time at Kelli's.
Run on over and sign up for the fun!

Today I'm going to share some dishes. I understand Shannon over at Rocks in My Dryer had a little impromptu dish sharing carnival going on yesterday. I really had planned to do this dish Show and Tell already, but I may go over to Rocks and get in on that fun also.
Anyway--This pottery is made by an artisan in Maine. My husband and I went on several trips to Camden. Maine during the 1990's. Every time we were there, I would end up visiting a little shop that sells pottery and other art pieces from local craftspeople. Every time I visited I bought another piece--or several.

Here's my small collection of Maine blueberry pottery--the artist is Johnson.
They go well with my blue and green Fiestaware!

Spring--And--Another Birthday!
Hi, All! I've been staying pretty quiet lately. Those of you who come by regularly probably know that means we have been taking care of physical/medical needs. Lee has had a few bumps in the road lately--which means I haven't had much time or interest for the computer. He is somewhat better today, but is sleeping much of the time. Thank you for continued prayers.
Speaking of seasons. It is still Birthday Season at our house!
I think you friends need to see what I found in our backyard today!
Take a close look!
Can't see it?
Let me help you focus just a little.
There you go! The maple tree has buds!
That can only mean one thing.
There will be a SPRING this year!!
YAY! SPRING IS COMING!!
