Weather Report--Storms in Tennessee
Just a quick note to let friends and family know that the horrible storms in Tennessee did not harm us last night. We spent the evening watching on TV as the storm marched across the state, leaving destruction in its path.
It was not until this morning that we realized how really bad it was. I just heard on TV that this is the worst storm in Tennessee--as far as fatalities are concerned--since 1933. I believe the latest fatality count is 26 state-wide and more than 50 across the south.
There was a lot of damage in Sumner County to the north of us--actually just across the lake. Toward the west, Jackson, including Union University, suffered a lot of damage. I think the latest report is no fatalities at the University, but there are some critical injuries. There are other reports from other towns and counties of unbelievable destruction.
You can see and read about the storms here and here.
We thank the Lord that our family is safe. Please join us in praying for all those who were affected by the storms last night.
Casting Crowns--Praise You in the Storm

Myrna, We are glad to hear that you and your family were safe. Two girls from our church attend that University and the email from the pastor this morning told us that the girls were in the dorms but are safe.
When we see the destruction, we wonder how anyone could have been saved from death.
Such a powerful storm - I'm glad you are safe and sound. What a great song you posted - for all kinds of storms.
As I told you in my email, we're fine. Blessed, actually, that the storms went all around us, as you said they did around you. Unfortunately not everyone was as blessed and there is a lot of destruction, injuries and even some deaths pretty close to us.
Praise God for His protecting hand upon us in all the different storms of life!
Love and hugs,
Diane
I have heard alot about the storms and wondered if any of my "friends" in blogland had been affected by them. Glad to hear that you are ok.
