Confessions of An Avid Reader/Book Lover
OK! Confession Time!
I have trouble saying, "No!"--to books!
I have trouble saying, "No!"--to books!
I was in tar*get the other day; taking care of business and in a hurry! I know better than to walk by a book display in any store. However, this particular time it was the shortest way to the area of the store I needed. Notice, I did not say the quickest way. because, of course, my eye was caught by a particular display.
There.It.Was. I know. I should have just kept walking and put the title on my Christmas Wish List--My husband ALWAYS gets me some books. But, I HAVE NO WILL POWER WHEN IT COMES TO BOOKS--especially Jan Karon books with Father Tim and possibly other Mitford friends in them! At least it was 30% off! (I know--but, it's a way to justify. OK? Let me live with my illusions!) No will power, I'm telling you! None.
My Fall Into Reading list is getting up-dated!
This is the next book I'm reading!
AND--I'm going to enjoy every word of it!
So, what are you reading now?

I had the pleasure of meeting Jan Karon a few days ago. She's lovely - and tiny! I have a couple of pictures on my blog.
Oh I love to read, too! Books are a weakness of mine. I have never heard of Jan Karon though. I'll have to check her out. My to read list grows daily!
Hope you're having a good day!
God bless :)
Oh, Myrna. You and I can share Father Tim. He is the ultimate good neighbor don't you think?
I can't wait to read that book, but I knew it was coming so I put it on my fall list when I posted it. You will be reading it before me though. I have to wait to borrow mine. I'm too cheap to buy it.
Right now, I am reading "The Remember Box". It is really good. Really good.
And on my bedstand is the Beverly Lewis series of Annie's People, which is NOT on my list and will have to be added.
So many books, so little time.
Enjoy!
You could be addicted to much worse things, so being addicted to books is a good thing! hehe I haven't read any books lately but have a couple waiting to be read. xox
I rarely buy books any more, and I'm on the list to get it at the library. I am lookng forward to my name getting to the top.
i have the same weakness. BOOKS! i love immersing myself into a whole new world. and as many times i tell myself i'm only going to look at the books on display and not buy any, i always end up taking atleast one home.
i just finished come back by fontaine(s) and am only a few pages into the tender bar. i'll be honest... i've never read any jan karon. i probably will someday. i know several people who love her books.
I'm looking forward to reading this new one by Jan Karon also. Right now I'm reading A City of Bells by Elizabeth Goudge which I've added to my fall list while avoiding others :)
Enjoy...
I love reading too----Enjoy your new book:)

It could be worse...you could be addicted to drinking or something like that....books are a good thing to have no will power at.
Oh I share the same weakness, in fact I just returned from the campus bookstore and returned with a book - I did not go to buy a book. But I couldn't resist!
And I just started Home to Holly Springs. I am a very fast reader but I am forcing myself to go slow and savor every single word. I just don't want it to end. It's that good!
Enjoy!
I WILL BE GOING TO TARGET TOMORROW!!!! I didn't know that book was out yet! I loved that Mitford series and almost bawled when it was finished. I hope this is about the same well loved characters.
