Photo Op--OOPS!
Well, we DID get some snow. Actually it was kind of a faux snow! The sun popped out briefly and that ruined the peaceful beauty of the scant ground cover we had. Now it is just patchy and slushy. It was enough snow (and ice on the roads) for school to be cancelled. Lots of happy children and teachers--some of both in my family!

I know. I know. Why did they get out of school for just a little snow? It's the SOUTH, ya'll! Those of you who live in the really cold places with snow of the ground for long periods of time don't want to be on our roads when we get snow! Remember we don't have enough of the white stuff to have the clearing equipment/experience that you guys have. It gets cleared and we get on with life pretty quickly. But the first day of it is rough going!

I had really good intentions of getting a photo to share with you. I even sneaked out to the deck quietly to try to catch one of the neighborhood cardinals in my back yard. Good intentions! The battery on my camera was down! Of course, no replacement! Oh well!

The camera is a challenge to me in blogging. Lee has served as our main family photographer for years. We have always depended on him to bring the camera and actually remember to take pictures. Now that he has turned that responsibility over to me, we have fewer pictures! I am having to discipline myself to know where the camera is and, oh yes, remember to click it at a few appropriate moments!

You would think having the blog would help me get my photography act together. It's a BIG challenge, ya'll! Good thing I don't have to do the whole getting-film-developed thing. That would probably just put me over the edge!

One more birthday for this week!
Happy birthday to my niece, Karen!

Yay, you got a little snow! Boo, we didn't get squat, as usual. ;o)

Happy birthday to Karen! ;o)

Hope you and Lee are doing well, Myrna.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Just like my kids in Texas, you guys shut down with just a scattering. Schools up here in Michigan have been closed several times this winter due to huge amounts of snow and blowing winds. We are thankful for a few clear days lately.

I hear you on the battery issue. That always seems to happen to me along with the fact that I have never been the photographer in my family.

I never took pictures before. Due to blogging I am actually learning to like doing so and getting a tiny bit better at it.

Well, you may not take pictures, but you find great graphics! I lived in Arkansas when I was a kid, and the one or two times it snowed, the whole town shut down! So I know of what you speak.

I agree with Dawn, you may not take a lot of pictures but you have great graphics! I really like graphics as you can probably tell from my blog. lol! The crazier the better.

We're getting about 16 inches of snow today on top of all we already have. Our kids have used up all of their snow days and now have to go longer in June.

Happy Birthday to your niece!!!

So fun that you got some snow! :)

And I can't count how many times I was at one of my daughter's little functions with my camera and the battery died!

We're going to bring our charger with us to California, to be sure! In fact, I better put that on the top of my list! ;)

Have a great rest of the week, dear Myrna!
