Thanksgiving Wrap-Up
Thanksgiving at our house has always been a little unusual. We do not live near either Lee's family or mine. Early in our marriage we realized that we were not going to be able to travel every year. We needed to develop our own family tradtiions.

For many years we went to a nearby state resort--just across the state line in Kentucky. I always considered it our family fall retreat. We went there almost every Thanksgiving for more than twenty years. We started going when our boys were very young and continued through the addition of daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Some years we were all there, sometimes it was just part of us, and a couple of times times Lee and I were by ourselves. We have many wonderful family memories of those trips to Lake Barkley.

Life has changed; in recent years we have spent the holiday at home.
Our family was all together at our house last weekend. We enjoyed a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner. BAR-B-QUE! We were traditional enough to have turkey in the form of this cute CHOCOLATE cake!

We didn't take a lot of pictures this year. I guess we were to intent on talking, eating, and playing. As I looked through the pictures, I realized that this is the best one of the day. Lee and I are never happier than when we have all four grandchildren with us!

Poppy and Grandmama with
Ella,Luke, Spoony, and Joshua!
What a group!

Today we had a quiet day at home. Greg was with us--The rest of his family went to LA for a few days. The three of us had a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings Never fear! I did not do all that cooking for just the three of us. Our meal was from that very handy southern delight--Cracker Barrel. Evidently we were not the only people dining with the folks at the Barrel. Greg had quite an adventure picking up our order. It was very good!

I hope you had a great and peaceful day with people you love!

I loved seeing all your grandchildren. I know that they bring you and your husband much joy! I am glad that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day together. I had friends who got their dinner from Cracker Barrel also. That is such a great idea!
